According to Kindred mythology, Caine sired three childer, who in turn sired childer themselves. This third generation came into being before the Great Flood – and some say it was their sins that called it down. The survivors, known as the Antediluvians, became the progenitors of the modem clans.

CLANS

As soon as a mortal receives the Embrace, they receive access to the powers colloquially known as Disciplines. Developed from the temperaments of victims consumed and refined to devastating potential, vampires bring these Blood-borne gifts to bear against foes and prey.

DISCIPLINES

Loresheets are a special type of Advantage that connects your character straight into the rich metaplot(s) of Vampire. Beware, however, that these Advantages are often very different in nature and may not be appropriate for all chronicles. The Storyteller always has the final word on which Loresheets are available for player characters.

They walk in the footsteps of Anansi, Coyote, Hanuman, Hermes, Rabbit, Loki, and their ilk, a flame of capricious divinity simmering in their Blood. They range across domains and continents, only rarely settling down, always a step ahead of the Antediluvian judgement that pursues them (and occasionally brings them into conflict with clans like the Gangrel, who otherwise might share an affinity for the world’s liminal spaces). Their methods are not brute force, adoration of crowds, or meticulous centuries-spanning plots, but rather wit and panache, artful charm, and outright illusion.

The schemes of the Kindred yield winners and losers, and each winner demands a loser to pay the price of that success. Such is the case with the Salubri, centuries ago renowned for wisdom and erudition, but now little more than a despised footnote in the schemes of the Damned. Theirs is a legacy of tragedy, but also a bitter lesson in the millennia-spanning Eternal Struggle, for in their destruction, those who overtook them burdened them with the reputation for the crime to which they were the victim. As if to compound the recognition of this guilt, every Salubri bears a third eye in the center of their forehead, the indicator of their lineage.

Salubri, centuries ago renowned for wisdom and erudition, are now little more than a despised footnote in the schemes of the Damned.

To the Tzimisce, possession is all. They aim to conquer and rule the subject of their possessiveness, jealously guarding it like their namesake dragon would its hoard. The clan’s charges have traditionally been defined geographically, such as a land or a regional people, and elder Tzimisce have reputations for being the shuddersome lord in the castle that looms above the crags. The young generations, though, have extended their obsessions to more liberal claims of possession: cults, companies, gangs, even military units. Their covetousness limited only by lack of expansive ambitions, they are exceedingly hard to dislodge once they’ve sunk their claws in.

To the Tzimisce, possession is all. They aim to conquer and rule the subject of their possessiveness, jealously guarding it like their namesake dragon would its hoard.

The Judges of the Banu Haqim are torn between their hereditary thirst and their passion for justice.

Tracing their lineage from the Egyptian would-be god of deception and chaos, the clan formerly known as the Followers of Set has a reputation as motley as their history.

Creatures subtly at odds with mundane reality, the ruthless Lasombra are expected to triumph at any cost.

A motley collection of necromantic vampire bloodlines, the Hecata clan are united in the pursuit of a single subject: Death.

Lacking any sort of built-in spellcasting, the envoy is a class that lets players live the fantasy of supporting allies without the need of magic. Envoys excel at directing their allies and party members, granting powerful buffs that improve if the envoy performs actions that fulfill a “lead by example” clause. This might be simple, like nominating and Striking a foe, or more intricate, based on your selected leadership style and involving actions like Raising a Shield or a specific skill action. Play the envoy if you want to be the smooth talker with a plethora of skills and be able to take on a variety of different roles in combat while guiding your party members.

Forming bonds with their closest allies, the Mystic is a Wisdom-based class that fulfills the role of battlefield healer and spellcaster. They access a vitality network that acts as a floating pool of Hit Points that they can transfer to their bonded allies, allowing them to spot heal in a punch. Able to access the divine, occult, and primal traditions via their selected connection, the mystic is also an incredible versatile spellcaster who spontaneously casts spells and can make decisions on the fly. Play the mystic if you want a class that provides a new spin on the healer concept while also giving you a strong selection of spell traditions and the ability to create close bonds with your party members.

Operatives are a Dexterity-based class all about being the best at their field of specialization as well as one of the best damage dealers in combat. They use the Aim action to reduce cover from enemies and gain extra precision damage, whether from a small, one-handed pistol or a large-caliber sniper rifle. Operatives move around the battlefield, striking up close or at range, depending on their specialization. Play an operative if you want to take advantage of guns and deal high damage to your designated targets.

A solar knight, the solarian is a Strength-based class that channels the various states of stars while on the battlefield. Every solarian has access to a weapon of pure stellar energy that they can reform on the fly, along with a shimmering nimbus to protect them and a small mote that can act as an extremely short-range firearm. Shifting between graviton and photon-attunement, a solarian’s abilities gain different effects based on their current attunement, giving them a flexible mechanic that rewards players who set up their abilities in advance. Play the solarian if you want to try a class that can mix things up in melee while also having powerful control abilities you can use in combat.

The soldier is a Constitution-based class that combines an area-weapons expert with a mountain of Hit Points. In combat, soldiers unleash suppressing attacks with Area Fire or Auto-Fire weapons, pinning enemies in place and reducing their effectiveness. They benefit designating a primary target within their area attacks, granting them extra shots while unleashing their heavy weapons. Play a soldier if you want to control areas of the battlefield with area-of-effect attacks while taking any retaliation from your foes thanks to your heavy armor and abundance of Hit Points.

Witchwarpers are an Intelligence-based class that alters reality by drawing on the infinite possibilities of other universes and timelines. Every witchwarper is influenced by a paradoxical event, and they can harness the power of that paradox to create magic. In combat, they cast spells and can sustain a reality-altering warp field to harry enemies. However, potent paradoxical magic comes at a cost, and every witchwarper must have something to anchor themself in true reality, whether it be an intense focus on a particular subject or memories of more peaceful times. Play a witchwarper if you want to bend reality to your will.
